Recently I was looking for different passages of scripture that cover / identify “Endurance”. There are many but I found one that really hit me …

Romans 5:3-4

More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,

Many times we question why we have “hard times” and others don’t but we must remember…..if we don’t have what we may consider “hard times” how will we know to appreciate the beter times. We often confuse “hard times” with punishment and overlook where it leads us or teaches us.

As children you watch and learn to know what you can and cannot do and what you should and should not do. As we age and mature we seem to think that the process is different, but it really isn’t. We must learn to walk to learn to run and in the process we skin or knees, hurt our elbows and in many cases “bump our heads” but are no worse the wear.

As adults we must remember where we came from to take steps to go further or in some cases….simply work harder not to go back  where we came from. As Christians…..the same principle applies. Remember where you were before you invited  the Lord into your life, relish where you are now that He is in your life and work hard to ensure you continue to grow in Him.
